Manchester United target Antony may be handed his Ajax exit with the Dutch club eying up a replacement as the Old Trafford club enter ‘advanced talks’ for Jonathan Clauss

New United boss Erik ten Hag has identified the Brazilian winger, who he worked alongside at the Eredivisie champions, as his top target to solve his side’s problems on the right wing. And the move could be edging closer thanks to Ajax closing in on Porto’s Francisco Conceicao.

 

It comes as reports suggest United are in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Lens defender Jonathan Clauss. And United icon Teddy Sheringham has told the club to bring in a “statement” signing such as Harry Kane or Declan Rice after admitting the club’s transfer business so far this summer has left him a little underwhelmed.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Antony has been handed a boost with Ajax close to signing Porto winger Francisco Conceicao.

 

The 19-year-old Porto star is set to move to the Dutch side and could be a potential replacement for Antony due to their similar playing styles. The left-footed right winger is the son of Porto boss Sergio Conceicao and reportedly has a release clause of just £4.25million with the Portuguese club.

And with Ajax ready to trigger that clause, it could hand United a boost to their own hopes of getting Ajax to agree to the sale of Antony.
